For decades, Lincoln Howes travelled the globe as an accomplished journalist and television producer for Australia's premier current affairs programme, '60 Minutes' and ground-breaking documentary series like the award-winning 'Go Back To Where You Came From' and 'Struggle Street'. Lincoln has worked as Series Producer, Supervising Producer, Scriptwriter and Post-Producer across all major Australian networks. This demanding career honed the masterful storytelling and interviewing skills that Lincoln now dedicates entirely to Premier Legacy Films.

A personal
turning point.
I was in New York when Covid hit and just made it home before the world shut down. The initial lockdowns were a rare chance to step off the relentless treadmill of work and international travel and in those strange empty days I decided my priorities needed to change. I would shift my focus to what truly mattered: family. I'd spend more time with my ageing Mum and try to reconnect with my younger brother, Cameron, from whom I'd become estranged.
But life has a habit of tossing unexpected twists into the best laid plans. There I was, proudly living up to my vow of family first at Mum's 90th birthday celebration. The twist was I didn't get to mend any bridges with my brother, who missed the event due to a dose of Covid-19. That day turned out to be the unremarkable beginning of an overwhelming family tragedy. Within weeks Cameron was lying intubated in an ICU battling pneumonia and blood clots on his lungs. In August 2024, Cameron, who up to that point, had been a fit, active 61-year-old, lost his battle with the disease.
But the most heartbreaking twist was yet to come. Two weeks later, the loss of her youngest child proved too much to bear for our Mum, Margaret and we lost her too.
It was a period of such intense sadness, I don't know how we got through it. But it was a stark reminder that we don't always get the time we assume we have left with our loved ones. And it brought two universal truths into sharp focus: life is short, and family is everything. When my father had died years earlier I'd realised a lot had gone unspoken between us. I was determined not to let that happen with Mum so I created my first 'Legacy Film' with her. She was 87 and sharp as a tack. She loved the end result and it's been a real comfort now that she's gone.
It never occured to me I'd need to make a Legacy Film for my fit, active younger brother. But after his death, I did create a new film format to help his wife and kids through their grief - the Memorial Film. By incorporating heartfelt eulogies from the funeral service I was able to produce an uplifting tribute that they truly appreciated and actually helped with my healing as well.(That Memorial Film is included in our Portfolio).
From that intense period of grief emerged Premier Legacy Films. I recognized how important a Legacy Film can be and realised my professional background and personal experience mean I'm perfectly placed to provide that service .
